Very excited about this, thank you Jarred and the entire Red team for all your hard work.
Are you saying you want to sell your Monstro and get an Alexa Mini LF? I consider the Monstro to be the best sensor out there right now.
I had the Dragon 6K Magnesium prior to upgrading it to Monstro and it did NOT have the new ISO calibration. I am not sure about the new Dragon X, maybe someone from RED can chime in on this.
There is a new ISO calibration in the unified DSMC2 bodies which reflects the CORRECT ISO value, prior to that 800 ISO on a RED camera really meant between 400 to 500 on a light meter... which meant...
Well deserved Christopher, congratulations.
I use both the 15mm and 18mm CP3s and they are both solid lenses. Both lenses get a little soft when shooting wide open but they have a nice contrast to them and they are a pleasure to use.
Variable ND... a delight to my eyes!
Either there isn't enough internal processing to make this happen in camera at 4K or there isn't a fast enough data rate on the redmag (300 MBS) to record it... or both. Either way, not possible at...
I very much care about a global shutter so I would love to see a motion mount with a zero light loss setting. This should have been made years ago.
Still have mine and absolutely love it. The only thing I would upgrade to would be Monstro.
I've been using the ExFat format for a while now with no issues whatsoever to transfer data from a Mac to a PC and back.
Insanely cool, got few heart attacks watching this.
The academy awards have become a complete joke, very sad.
That was stunning, simply beautiful.
A 6K Monstro sensor cut would be game set and match for RED. It's a little baffling to me that such a thing still doesn't exit.
The Dragon sensor was a huge improvement over the MX sensor, if you can get your hands on one I would go with the Dragon.
Curious about the location and orientation of the headphone jack (pointing downward), I see many headphone cables getting ripped this way... other than that looks solid.
Thank you for the input Phil, much appreciated.
I am thinking of purchasing this light, would love to get any feedback from those who got their units and have put the light through its paces.
I'll be happy if we can break the 300 MB/S barrier. It wouldn't too much to ask for double that speed in 2019. It's time for much faster recording media and much faster internal processing... just...
Great work. Forgive me but I had to watch it with the volume on mute.
My sentiment exactly! Just curious to know why people are still hung up on 4:3?
Please forgive my ignorance, I do not shoot on anamorphics... why not use 6:5 at 8K instead of 4:3 at 6K?
I still have my Weapon Mg (DSMC2) Dragon, it is my bread and butter camera. I will eventually upgrade to Monstro but for now I am very happy with my images.
Changing the color temperature with the side handle or the sidekick is still laggy and clunky. Hopefully this can be addressed soon.
