3D IS and will be 2k only, 24fps and HFR.
There is no standard in DCI/DCP for 4k 3D, and there is no hardware to support it.

Marc, you wrote:

No cinema 3D system needs dedicated distribution versions. They are all processed/corrected on-the-fly in the server/projector. AVATAR did not have 22 different distribution versions. At a time,...
Zack,
there is certainly more to say about safety and regulations, but for now: A classic Xenon or UHP lamp can harm your eyes just the same way as certain laser light sources can. There are all...
The Scarlet and EPIC have two mono 3.5mm sockets. Mono means 'audio mono' - they are actually two stereo (3pole) sockets for left and right. A bit unusual, but they actually offer symmetrical...

Proxy/h.264 module could indeed be the better alternative to in-camera playback. Could stream/store wireless to multiple cheap displays like iPad (which RED demonstrated already quite a while ago)....

Someone claimed that 'Lost' is shot at 24fps. I insisted that would make no sense since it's a US TV series and why would they routinely do 3:2 for their home market? Certainly not just to make...

And it will be available in RED. Who said Panasonic doesn't have any humour?

P.S. - funny, their US website cites 24p and 60i/p, while in Europe the say 25p/50i/p. Now 25p certainly...
Basically there is software now available <1000 US$ to create DCI-compliant movie files at 2k resolution - directly from FinalCut Pro. That is, you create the necessary encrypted MXF container on a...
By the time this system will be available, we probably have 1024GB SSDs with writespeeds above 300MByte/s.

Harhar, excellent, I love you guys...
Just as well as the glossy red colour mixed with the black. Coooooool!

Hehe - what do you think where Jim pulls out all that spacy stuff RED sells?
Develop it? Here? ON EARTH? Spend some more time on Terminator II and try to understand the concept!
