If Apple manufacture it's hardware, it is not all of it. The cpu are Intel, gpu is Nvidia or AMD, and I don't think they even build a motherboard, at most design it. If you can run OSX on "pure pc...
I use em all (including LINUX CentOS), with also the "Whatever gets the job done" philosophy. That being said I like open source Linux, and I like windows option (choice of hardware, software, spare...
Yes I think they just got away with it, end of story. Aaton, as was stated before, is a very small company, I guess they did not have the fund to find an other sensor manufacturer or manufacture it...
In fact it was cheaper than the Arri Alexa with OVF and raw option, which you have by default on the Delta
yes a niche camera for rental house, but they only need a few to get ROI

Gamers still need quite big computer, and for sure powerfull gpu. I think we own them some dev in gpu computer power. But yeah I follow you, and I'm also a bit afraid, even with OS that goes towards...
Well, I've tried to unlock the screen till I thought it would be quicker to re-install a firmware, which I did, and it did unlock the screen. Not sure why I could not unlock it normally, the corner...

I'm trying to unlock the Red Touch Screen by touching the lock icon, but nothing happen. Is there an other way to unlock it?

ARRIRAW is 2.8K. If you consider 4K as the right resolution for acquisition, then it is around 1/2 the resolution
Well I don't agree to that, Aaton Delta Penelope has more DR than the Alexa...
If I may ask, what is this external chassis? Thanks a lot
I confirm that the Aaton Penelope Delta has a Dalsa sensor in it.
And be able to have UHD out of the (only) sdi to record some 4K "proxy" (when there is a field recorder)
Mine does exactly the same, and it's been around for a while I think

I would upgrade to Scarlet Dragon. 60fps @5K is sweet, with the new DR and iso.
I think anyway I will shoot 5K, on the Epic Dragon, most of the time.
I thought all sensor likes something around 5000k, is it not? Now 98 cri is better than 93 but I would take daylight
+1 for a one year warranty on the Dragon
Thanks for the link
So how the solo mode actually works? So far I only saw (when the rig was operated by only one person) the camera being always at the horizon level or on a fix angle. How do you pan&tile in solo mode?
why is that?
I think that's the point.
And the money you get from its use.
Good question, I would also like to know
narrative work in (small) room with people talking, and most sound guy will ask you to come with a solution.
all you need is one sdi input: 6G-SDI
LOL, sure George sure!
