I rent most things we use. Joker 1600 is not 10 000 at BnH
That's a lot of juice. You could not put that anywhere near an actor's face. With a joker 1600 you will get more than enough light to shoot with MX or Dragon with LLOLPF even at rather extreme FPS....
Christopher your work here is stupendous. What were you using as main key lights?
That said I must say I find the the concept to be mindless, boring dreck of the worst kind, like it was conceived...
It's like an accident and you should be covered - lasers hit the sensor by accident, and really is no different from a brick hitting the sensor by accident But really they (the renters) should be...
I recommend K5600 HMIs Most flicker free lighting solution I have ever found other than the sun. 5X more energy efficient than tungsten, and tungsten can flicker a LOT at high speed. I believe...
No problems balancing an Epic on it? Motors can handle very quick moves?
We all have very irregular routines, and most thefts target locations where there is no one around at specific times that can be easily observed.
Yes he should use less quotation marks, but as an avid reader I don't find his posts too long at all. Hs points are always well made and interesting
I don't get why anyone would want Prores, except to please the false perception that it is "easier".
- 1080p 444 Prores is heavier than full resolution 6:1 R3D, often with more artifacts, 4K...
It's what I want. Too much supply means rental prices plummet. Call me a jerk but I like to make money off my investments.
4K screens have a very low adoption rate, and 4K content is… Where?
4K finishing is still rare. I have yet to hear of anyone finishing a TVC in 4K. People debate about whether you can see...
Maybe, but I see the middle class of the rental market here disappearing. You have high end - Epic, Alexa, F55, renting for OK rates, and added as a charge to your day rate if you bring your own...
Are you working on an Alexa Birger solution? That's exciting news.
Well it's not the only rule. Sometimes increased specialization means higher profits, especially when low end customers create negative perception and a higher likelyhood of ugly work with cameras,...
Indeed. That's why I think when people here review cameras or any products, they should specify what kind of shooting they do. It's always relevant.
For example our Kessler full sized jib has...
What is the point of this? Why not just shoot on a 35mm sensor? Only Imax projects need that much resolution. The whole cool thing of a larger sensor is being able to use longer lenses for a wider...
Your work flow would makes sense in 2008. Why bother with quicktime proxies? Native Red files play fine in Premiere since CS 5.5.
You don't "know" this. Why is it better, do you think? Some cards have only 8 bit out on HMDI, but 10 on SDI - but that is not always the case. HDMI as a cable standard can give you as much...
The field of view is wider on Epic, it's not about the resolution really - but it makes a huge visual difference.
True that! Even the Red One MX is better than many high other current end cameras in certain ways, let alone the Scarlet.
Red customer service is so good, you can hear it's good over and over again, but you'll still be astounded by just HOW good the first time you call on them. Don't worry.
Was comparing to new Zacuto - which looks exactly the same as new Small HD EVF. Both are excellent, are in fact the best EVFs I have ever seen on any camera. But, both look exactly the same in...
The new Small HD EVF is just as good - same resolution, same smooth image rendition - and way cheaper.
Jacek's mount is based on Birger Engineering technology. Birger Engineering technology is amazing. Blows Redlink out of the water in smoothness, precision and repeatability.
