Yeah ... but only ONE of the things Weapon is all about. There's much, much WAY cooler shit than ProRes in the Weapon program :)
Let's see what happens in 3 weeks.
Yeah - the image side by side with 5" is like night and day. No banding, better color and WAY sharper.
I'm just going to keep begging Jarred to please make ANOTHER VERSION without the hinge -...
For those of you who know me personally and/or follow me virtually via REDUSER or other social media platforms - you know that I love to discover technology based tools in the early stages of...
Yeah ... and I think Shane is pretty happy about that :)
Because the Arri Mini is not ARRI's big NAB announcement.
I'm the first person to say that the future of stills and motion is LARGER sensors.
BUT ... if RED put the Dragon sensor technology in a 2/3" sensor .... a SHIT TON of people would buy it -...
Fujifilm IS Mini - best in class IMO at the moment - is 26^3 - 10 bit processing :)
And Panasonic is leading the way with 3D LUT support in (high end) "consumer" 4k TVs -
Just to put a little perspective on this - a 17x17x17 3D LUT has 4,913 defined color points - the rest are interpolated (typically trilinear).
A 33x33x33 has 35,937 defined points - and is used...
AJA is 17x17x17
Understood Mike - and I am ALL for as many 3D LUT hardware options as possible!
But it's important to identify the target use for the device - as there is more to consider than just "cost".
Too small for creative LUTs - okay for monitor calibration - but IMO - too small for high-end creative work.
33x33x33 - 16bit processing as opposed to Lumagen's 12-bit processing - 4K up tp...
And for what it's worth - having taught hundreds of people from around the world in Reducation and other seminars - I have found that a vast majority of camera owner/operators - who don't...
And that naming - "Low Light Optimized" may as well be called "The FUD Generator".
Hey Christoffer - it does sound like you could be best served by the LLO. If you often starve the sensor of light - and using a light meter - you can not get an appropriate/available T stop rating at...
There are many comments in this thread I find very troubling.
When RED announced the naming convention for the OLPFs I rolled my eyes because I knew that by calling one OLPF "low light optimized"...
Fantastic news Dan!
Vitec has served my good friend Nicol very well - and now I don't have to worry about pissing him off if you and I do some stuff together!!
This is great.
Which is, go figure, very close to the native aspect ratio of the Dragon (1.94:1)
I would :)
So this is already 100% possible now on Dragon with external software using RCP protocol. Not rocket science.
if I wasn't pushing Mikael to fry much bigger fish in time for NAB - I'd suggest...
