Unfortunally, last I check, Scratch wasn't design to support natively a video input card. It's a file based system. You need to use an other program to ingest footage. We face the same problem and...
I will let you know if someone need a shoot there...
[QUOTE=Kyle Mallory;370965]I'll give this a try, but in Linux you will very rarely (under normal circumstances) see a 100% CPU load, in part because of how Linux handles multithreading. Again, in my...
After spending time is research like you, the ecinema DPX24 is apparently the reference when compare to BVM D32 witch is still in use on many telecine suite. Other LCD Sony (21K) Barco (25-27K)...
Ok to our experience with sdk himself on win xp32, recompile to be used in command line, sdk does not scale up to 2 cores. So we develope an mulithread version to act like a render farm and scale up...
Hi kyle
I'm check some stuff with the SDK on my side. How many CPU are in your system actually? how loaded is their activity? Because having more CPU doesn't mean the sdk will be abble to use...
Thanks Martin, these number make more sense to me. I'll waiting for your final spec sheet of the product.
Mathieu
Hi Martin,
Due to the way the SDK is coded, I strongly doubt you are abble to render 2K to DPX in realtime within a single box. I encourage you to verify, but if I wrong, then you don't have the...
Ok so render to r3d to DPX at 2K (1/2 res) with high quality setting for debayern, antialising etc is realtime to disk out of these box?
So render is much slower than playback...Any SDI out throw GPU board? Metadata is handle when rendering and also throw playback?
when you said fast QT DNxHD encode what are you exactly mean? What does include the 30K euro enter price? Have you also realtime playback throw GPU or I/O board?
Hi Martin,
what do you mean by near set system? r3d player? would it play at 2K high footage in realtime?
Thanks Mathieu
what I see so far is around 35 % from sdk with a single i7, with only 2 cores at 100%...I was execpted that sdk scale up to 8 cores.
Hi guys
When you monitor the process in mac 8 core in redcine, what is your CPU usage? Also are all the core used at 100% or less maybe?
Thanks Mathieu
The red sdk doesn't allow us to access the debayering process is coded, so no chance actually to recomplie this for CUDA render out the r3d...
Could you provide me some benchmark ? (system info and test decode setting)
Nigel,
How does DVNR deal with electronic noise VS film noise? Does it make any difference?
Thanks Mathieu
Why not supporting 4:4:4 with DNxHD as long as Sony SR and R3D use them? In term of color grading, the possibility are more limited. And Sony SR is quite the standard in HD now...And in term of...
Yes that's what I hear too but can't find any info on avid ds website....
Mathieu
Hi
Here is my 1 milion dollar question of the day: Does SDK allows you realtime debayern?
Debayern process is 100% CPU. People who are implement the SDK in their specific appz get performance...
Will Avid support higher rate for DNxHD to use 444 instead of 422in there codec?
Hi kyle,
Very good news one more time. I just got a phone with Tom. I'll test pirahna in high-end VFX work in the next mounth. Here is the link to our production compagny www.frenchcancan.ca
...
It's a very good news the r3d support for piranha. Is the plugins avaible to purchase? The multithreading would optimise to work on quad CPU, and/or for next generation of 6 CPU?
Each time I read post where "prosumers", owner of red, asking to have a real DI tools for 10K, I understand why but I just don't think it's possible to be an allrounder. If scratch came out to 10K, I...
Good to know! Tree? Last I spoke to Tom last year, pirahna haven't...That's a good news. Do you mind to post some screen pictures of IU? I defently need to talk with, as I will need a strong product...
