I've used a lot of mirror boards, most of them made by the rental house. 4x4 mirror glued to plywood with a yoke. and a junior pin. Super easy to make. the plywood and glass are already heavy so a...

Sounds like power issues.
I run my gemini, all camera AKS including focus motors, wireless transmitters monitors etc, off of the sled power system, and have never had an issue. Knowing if it was...
I'd call who ever is your favorite gaffer and buy them a beer to help you out, but it's pretty straight forward. Hubbel makes good plugs, just make sure it's rated for the amps, and you are good.

It's pretty simple really. Step one - design something for longevity. Don't use components that have one supplier and are going to vanish in a couple of cycles. Or design more sub assemblies so you...
Looks like a twist lock for a honda genny. If you are mostly going to plug it into a wall, just put an edison plug on it. Keep the plug it came with and make a pig tail to edison at the female end,...
Thanks! Its not actually a ground glass. I went through many versions of GG and screens to find something that had relatively even field illumination and no GG pattern.
Smaller screen is both...
Absolutely the wrong camera for this. Not saying it couldn't be done, but I would take something smaller, something with a smaller chip, something with better battery life, zoom lenses. Honestly,...
Those lenses certainly don't have even field illumination. Point a widish one at a white wall evenly lit, pull up the wave form. You will see a bell curve.

I sold my epic dragon about exactly a year ago. Put it on ebay, priced to sell. No mount lens mount, but a bunch of media, a monitor, all the free crap you collect, side handle etc. Got $9k, which is...
Ah. Yeah. That's a bit of a problem. You could use a 4x5.6 pola and rotate the matte box. Thats what we did back in olden times with a 4x4 clip on on super speeds on a BL on steadicam. Or depending...
If one were to be into old weird filters, one might search ebay for 138mm filters as nobody uses them anymore. Then one could have sets of say, antique suede, black nets, white nets, etc, at very...

Am I missing something? I have one of these that I use in both my MB-19 so I can use...
Drone is gonna be way cheaper, and way smoother. Can't remember the last time I shot out of a real helicopter.....

High frame rates generally look like ass. Show scan was an attempt at HFR (60fps) and it never took off. I can't think of anything since the hobbit that was shot HFR as it is universally despised....
^^^^^ That guy has a point.
Yeah, unless you got it for like $10, it's probably cheaper to go buy a Tilta. Clip on MBs usually dont work so hot with still lenses. They aren't up to the weight clamped on front. Probably better...
Thats a clip on matte box right? do you mean step down rings so it will clamp on to non standard lenses? which sizes do you have? you can probably find somebody to make you new ones out of delrin.

You always need a big punchy source. You always need some small pokey lights. You always need some sort of soft source.
The punchy light could be anywhere from a 1200 to an 18k depending on the...
What's wrong with a traditional menace arm?
Nick
I'm 99% sure it will. It's been a while since I've used a dragon, but I definately remember sound coming over SDI to video village and having to turn the monitors down.
Nick
Thanks. The taking lens is just a standard 210mm russian 8x10 lens. I went through every ground glass out there and landed on this exotic film transfer screen which I replaced the GG with.
Nick
It really depends on how fast your lenses are, how you are rating your camera, etc. The interiors at the bowling alley and in the bar in this spot were lit with HMIs through the windows, and falcon...
You don't have the money for an arri kit. You could buy like 2 650s and a 1k open face used. Maybe. That is not going to get you very far. And you would change color temps with gell, and lose a ton...
Thanks Berenger,
Thank god I found a screen that I don't need to move around like the old pro35 adapters ;-)

6 seemed like enough to do just about anything, and you can make a pretty big single soft source with 6 18"x24" lights.
They are plenty bright. I use them all the time.
