15 or 17 inch Mac Powerbooks

Don't know which I'll get yet....

Here is a question. Will the HDMI from the RED plug directly into the powerbook and play in real time on the monitor while the RED is powered up or recording???

The manual says only the Dell is tested...Don't even know if a Mac book has DVI in???? This will be my first Apple..

The DVI port on the MBP is for output.
