Element Technica and Custom Supply Kudos

Folks,

I just received today via FedEx my first bit of the Element Technica treasure trove of goodies and here is the plain and simple truth: Their dovetail fits better than the original euro plate that came with the tripod. I had decided after ordering my tripod from BJ at Custom Supply that I was going the ET route with the baseplate. BJ promptly let me return the euro plate for a refund–thanks BJ.

Then, today the ET 9" dovetail for my 1030HDS arrived and it locks down as solid as can be. Not a smidge of movement or slop whatsoever, rock solid. So, I'm going on record as saying Oconnor, Custom Supply and Element Technica are all great companies with fantastic products.

I should of of never ordered a euro plate either. It's been a few months too long for me to return it even though I never used it. I wonder what I can get on ebay for it?

I guess if you don't plan on using any other camera with any different style of base mounting system, then don't bother with the euro plate. But I work with other cameras too and I can get a rental on my o'connor sticks and get to use it instead of having to use a rental set that never locks as well. If you don't have a touch and go plate you're going to have a hard time mounting any 2/3" or 1/2" video camera.

Love our ET products thus far. The 12" dovetail for the 1030HDS is great. Hadn't had any problems with it at all, and that along with the camera and everything else seriously creates for a very sexy combo. Fun time to be alive!
