Could/will Redcine in the future make better use of the "save color settings" option in the color tab? Right now when hitting the save button we have to manually click through all the folders to get to our destination (which in most cases would be the same folder as the r3d file itself.) Then we have to give it a name...

Wouldn't it be more useful to have the save function automatically save a "filename.rcc" file straight to the same folder as the r3d file? Or at least automatically go straight to the source folder before typing in a name.

Maybe Redcine also could call up this .rcc file on loading the r3d file into the library. This would make it easier to move projects around from computer to computer. The redcine project files seem to call up very specific folder names, and the xml doesn't include color data. So you'll run into problems if you have to hand over work to someone else.

Here's the scenario I'm looking for:
On set the DIT can play around with the color settings and make sure the highlights aren't clipping etc. He could then easily save the settings to a .rcc file so there won't be a need for further raw data pushing later in the pipeline...

The post-people could then load the r3d files into redcine with the color work already done by the DIT. Then hit export..

I think this would help out ibloom with his crimson app too..
