  1. #1 4k > 2k
Maybe I have missed something, but as far as I remember in the early camera development phase the specification charts used to mention 4K downsample to 2K recording mode (I thought that the Mysterium should have the downres capability?)
Is that concept now abandoned or ...?

The use of full frame sensor and recording on 2K would be an advantage. (saving bandwidth)

@ the moment, the scaling is not on the map.

There has been mentioned a "TV" version of the firmware, but it's in the blue right now...

I think Jim has stated several times that he doesn't see any value in doing in camera downsampling.

Perhaps the camera doesn't have enough gpu's to perform the donrez operation on top of the R3D wavelet compression?

i think 2k scaling's been abandoned. If i remember correctly, Jim said you can always easily downres to 2k in post, and still have ur 4k negatives, plus apparently the processing power involved in downscaling in realtime negated any benefit as far as framerates etc.

    im not holding my breath

EDIT: did it really take me that long to type that? lol

The only real reason to have 2K downsampled would be increased fps.

And 35mm DOF with less storage needs and longer recording times.

Still, when you are out in the middle of White Sands, Mojave desert or Sahara or anywhere; it could be really nice to use full 4K sensor and record in 2K. You'll need power and large storage for 4K, even if it is preferable.

Only to 60 though. The chip clock speed at 4k is MAX 60 fps. And if I remember right, the only way to get that fps is through the Raw data port (which don't know if it's happening anymore or not). So the 4k > 2k for more fps argument is a weak one at best seemings how already there is 120 fps at 2k.
