RED proxy high QT plays half the play rate?

When i try to play the High Quick Time movie proxy created from R3D file, I am able to play at only half the frame rate (i.e. 24fps plays only in 12fps) in Quick Time player.

Any thoughts will be of great help. Provided below Sytem and Software configuration.

System Configuration:

Mac Pro
2.66GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon
3GB 667 MHz DDR FB-DIMM
1TB SATA HDD internal (250GB, 500GB & 250GB)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
Mac OS X 10.4.11

Software Details:

Quick Time Player Version 7.3.1
REDAlert Version 1.56
REDCine Version 1.04

As far as I know the only way you could come close to playing it at full speed would be if you have a high speed raid drive but even then--I'm not sure if anyone can play the high at full speed. I know the biggest bottleneck you face is drive speed.
