The image quality of Scarlet will no doubt surpass the other 5k cameras out there. For those of us who love to write, direct, shoot and light - this camera will be an affordable one with a range of features and frame rates to make some beautiful moments realized.
Thank you Red team for finding a way to get that quality to us broke artists.
"Our battle our struggle is to create art. Our weapon is the moving picture. Our poetry will be shadows that lengthen and conceal, our light will play across faces that laugh and agonize. And our music will linger and finally overwhelm because it will have a context as certain as the grave" - F.W. Murnau

Regardless of the precise accuracy of the prophecy, I absolutely agree with the impulse and the deference to 2046 as an agonizingly brilliant piece of filmmaking.

5K= $5,000 dollars... easy to mix up. :-)

Oh wait, I bet you were kidding... with the clown thing. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Andrew, I'm not sure which 5K we're talking about either but that clown thing is one of the android's from Wong Kar Wai's 2046 - one of the loveliest (to say the least) films of the last decade.

Sorry for the confusion... I thought karapetkov was making a joke with a double meaning (K for cash not resolution... I need more coffee ;-).. but I did not infer any reference to 2046 or the android character... sometimes a clown is just a :clown2: .

So, for my punishment here is a link to a package on the incredible Chris Doyle (this was first referred to us by Tom)(Not a Rickroll or other bs)

Here is a link to a six part interview with Wong Kar-wai... (this is only the first one but the others are there linked in the window on the right)

Excuse the mix up... but enjoy the links.

    Have a good weekend David.

It still boggles me that everyone thinks Scarlet is an HVX/EX1 killer.

Maybe I haven't been reading enough on here, but what do you propose that it is Shawn?

    Andrew,

No confusion and many thanks for the links. I just last night saw at the Landmark in West Los Angeles (I can't remember your location) My Blueberry Nights. I have the DVD but wanted to see it in it's full glory.

Admittedly not the best picture of a director that has made many a stunning contribution in the recent past, it is still hugely interesting to me to see even a possibly not-as-good effort from this man. Very interesting as well to see the collaboration with Darius Khondji as opposed to Chris Doyle. I want to check to see if the art-direction is under new management as well (a craft which plays such an important part in these movies.)

Thanks again and you have a good week-end as well.

(I guess this is off topic but I'm not entirely sure what the topic was to begin with.)
