CONCLUSION:

Since no-one has guessed the 5+1, the price goes unclaimed...

However (As salut to Jim & all the indies out there) - we will offer the same* price (FREE postproduction in 3K* DCI for an independent short (up to 10 min), including audio and final mastering (value of over $ 15000,- USD)...) to the first fortunate owner of Scarlet who goes out there and shoots his short! Original script with a single still image from each scene proving You have finished the shooting will be required. As soon as someone claims the price - we will announce it here in this thread, elsewhere on this forum and also on our website to prevent You from sending stuff without reason...

Furthermore, as "Thank You" for participating in this thread, we will offer every person who participated 50% discount on our POSTPRODUCTION services for their first indie short (up to 10 min final edit) shoot on Scarlet (or RED ONE / EPIC).

*By the time Scarlet is available, we will be able to handle 3K (and 4K) workflow - for now "just" 2K...

Hi everyone!

With less then one week remaining lets have some last minute fun:

Please list 5 MAIN* features with the 6th item being price-tag.
(Please be specific with the features and the price - things like "bellow $ 2000,- won't cut it...)

I, for one, on behalf of my company DERYL Group, offer the winer FREE postproduction in 2K DCI for an independent short (up to 10 min), including audio and final mastering (value of over $ 15000,- USD)...

Jim - will You add something?

Here is my bet:

1) 2K DCI resolution (2048x1080)
2) Variable frame rate
3) Interchangeable lens mount
4) RED RAW
5) NO build-in LCD

6) $ 2000,- USD (even thou I think it will be between $ 5~8 K...)

* "MAIN feature" means defining feature, such as whether it is going to have interchangeable lens mounts (or fixed lens), build-in LCD (or not), 2K (or HD, or 4K, or "whatever"K) resolution, recording format, variable frame rates, time-laps, etc... As KMIKAMI correctly pointed out - things like "power button", "record button", etc... do not count... Thanks KMIKAMI!

I think at 2,000 jim would be doing it at a loss and as much as I'd like to see the other companies lose their minds I don't want to see red do something that would damage red long term. I think around 5k is more likely

This will not have a Canon or Nikon mount... this will use smaller batteries than the RED ONE. It will use REDcode. oh and PS... this will be able to shoot timelapse... like the way we are familiar a DSLR does..... anyone know what a pclix is? ya.
