  1. #1 RED 300mm Support bracket
I have the RED 300mm Lens and need to find a support bracket to stabilize it.

    Any recommendations?
    Or does RED have one?

My plan is to run the 19mm Rod setup and RED's "Universal Mount" to support my huge Cooke 18-100. On the end of the Rod setup will be a 6x6 matte box.

    Here's RED's Universal Mount:

Until I receive the Camera in 7-10 days, I will not know if the Lens support bracket and this universal mount meet in the middle perfectly or if I'll have to use / make spacers to make up the difference.

I hear that is a bad ass lens, enjoy!

The 300mm is a very nice lens.

It does have a screw point on the lens so a bracket must be available... anyone know where it is?

Rory, here we use a UNIVERSAL MOUNT under the 300 since the center mounting hole of the UNIVERSAL MOUNT is the same threading as the 300 screw hole, we run a thumbscrew bolt from the bottom of the UNIVERSAL MOUNT to into the 300. Works like a charm!

Hi Brent, thats great as I have a spare Universal Mount.

Could you let me know where I can get the Thumbscrew bolt, or would I already have one of these?

Wondering the same thing. Living in a metric country it's hard to come by such imperially threaded bolts.

Not to mentioned if Rory ever comes over here he's going to have to be retrained as a "Colorist"! Damn those international treaties!
