I wonder if the viewfinder is availible at all, if so where could i rent one?

We are about to do a major commercialfilm for a clothing company out in the sun and want to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD.

    Do it exist?

    Hi Anton,

Your best bet is to track down owners (preferably ones that are renting) that have reservation numbers below about 120ish (I'm completely guessing that's where the EVF deliveries have got up to?). The EVF does indeed exist but is being delivered (to those that have ordered it obviously) in Red camera reservation order. I'm not sure about Sweden but in the UK I think there's about 1 person with an EVF (they're like gold-dust!!) Good luck!

p.s. by all accounts the Red LCD functions fine outside, even on sunny days.

It is a same that RED cannot deliver the EVF after 6 months.
This is one of the things that put the red appart from a professional camera. You cannot say to a DP or director that the EVF are still not availble when you are renting the camera to them.

Here you have your Porsche sir, unfortunately the lights do not work yet. But hey, you can still drive it, right?

    Hi Anton,

I rent mine out, It's available on the 18th of this month. I'm in LA, but I'll ship anywhere.

Yes, it is a shame. I consider it as just another bonus for the earliest reservation holders....
