I've recently purchased a set of Leica R's (19, 28, 35, 50, 90, 135, 180) and I'm wondering how or if people use their matte boxes with the lenses which telescope when focused.

Just with a donut that is forgiving enough. I haven't had too many issues. On the longer lenses where the telescoping is the worst it isn't typical to focus from nearest to infinity anyway.

How's that 28? I really want it. And the 60. And the 180. And the zooms.

I've had good results with Zacuto donut (for the worst offenders) and with the chrosziel rubber back (for mild telescoping)...

The 28 and the 35 are my favorite so far, but the 28 arrived with a focus problem - the focus ring was behaving weirdly when I started using it and now it's actually stuck, so I'll need to get that looked at before I can shoot more with it. Can anyone recommend a good place for service on these?
