Although all the announcements are pretty fantastically cool, I cannot help being a little disappointed. My honest hope was that the experience with Red One would be capitalized upon to release Scarlet *now*. Even a 2k RED (for 2k) would literally have stolen the market -- from everyone. I'd rather have 2k now than 3k next year. The real revolutionary announcement would have been a shipping Scarlet, today.

The thought of it certainly kept $2k in *my* pocket, ready to spend.

Now, though, I'll have to go give that money to another company. You can't shoot on what doesn't exist - should I not shoot anything till 2009? A big miss there, IMHO. I really really really really really really really wanted to buy Red today.

PS: Someone in the One forum mentioned the Steve effect (I assume referring to Steve Jobs). Notice, though, that 99% of Apple's announcements are for *shipping* products - the days of vaporware have evaporated (in computers anyway)...

PPS: This post is not meant to be inflammatory - please take it with a sense of humor and camaraderie. We're all *supporters* of Red, in this together (where else could we want to be?).
