    I wouldn't expect this on a $3,000 camera but if Red added this feature like they have with the Red One then that'd be pretty slick. I can imagine a lot of VFX students and lower end filmmakers will be wanting to matchmove plates shot with the camera and that'd be a big help.

    Why not? Even cheapo point and shoot still cameras do that these days. I guess that's one of the benefits of having a built-in lens. :)

    But recording the lens info every 1/100 of a second is another story. That's useful for FX which you could argue isn't that important to the Scarlet. I would argue for the feature in that a lot of students and 'DV Rebel' FX artists might be shooting on Scarlet. Something to think about.

    I can get really amazing matchmoves from my HV20, even working around the image wobble so I can only imagine what you could do with Scarlet for not much more money.
