To me this (and the Cineform HD thingy) are the two most readily important news from NAB.

Yup. I'll get Scarlet and Yup EPIC looks great and is the right move (even though it's probably 6k with a 200 MB/S RedcodeRAW a year from now) but for me as a RED user, these two news are all the meat I need right now.

    Anyone?

I share that sentiment. I believe there's some kind of RED workflow event tonight?

I figured this should be HUGE news from RED with a press release. One realistic solution to the bottleneck of RED... but nothing?

I wondered as well. But there are no hard dates on when the pieces will be available, so I'm guessing that's why there's no huge deal about.

Frankly, just the fact that it's official that Color will take R3Ds is enough news for me. They're on it, and that's all that matters.

Also, Apple has an official presence at the LAFCPUG meet tomorrow night, so I think there will be official Apple news sometime tomorrow.

Not that RED needs hard dates to announce their products, but something...

Of course if Apple is doing a presentation tomorrow, hopefully they'll have some good news.

And I agree, this is probably the most significant piece of the NAB/RED puzzle for me, at the moment.

As I understand it, this integration is more about Apple and less about Red.

And if you know anything about Apple, you know they do it as they see fit, not as another company may see fit.

That part of Apple I won't miss, if they do sell their ProApps divisions.

Uhg. I hope that rumor dies. I just don't need fear, uncertainty, or doubt over the shoulder of my purchasing decisions.

I think this whole Red/FCP/Color thing is going to work out fine. All the players seem to be on board.

The log and transfer's working just fine for me right now. Color's the next step.

Hope you're right on the rumor aspect.
