    For example -

    55W Fluorescent = 3000 lumens
    75W Kinoflow Fluoro = 3200 lumens
    650W Tungsten = 16000 lumens
    575 W HMI = 49000 lumens

So that's about 25fc/275lux at 7ft, or requiring about an f/4 @ 800ISO 24fps 1/48th. Just had a look at that using a single 55w flouro in a 4-bank unit and that level of light really isn't that bad. So yeah, seems to me these lights should be fine for tighter scenes where you don't need to keep the lights twice as far away, and if you don't mind opening up your lenses a bit.

Of course, they're permanently soft too, but that's as much a feature as a flaw right? Am definitely tempted to check these things out myself.
These are ideal for interviews. With standard lite panels, I'm always trying to soften them up because LED's are just too harsh sometimes on skin and present unwanted shadows. Looking forward to my units arriving.

Curious... CRI 90 plus or minus 2? So CRI possibility of 88?

    But possibly 92...hehe :-)

When looking at skin rendition on the NAB floor, it looked very accurate with no green/magenta casting. I've used the F&V litepanels before, and they only have a CRI rating of 85.

My guess is with this newer lighting technology, CRI rating doesn't have as much of a contributing factor to the overall quality of light output.

So to be clear, we can't put these on V mounts, or battery operate right? Would they come in a case? Anyway to attach a speed ring on a circular version?

Nick - there isn't a circular version now and I seem to recall it being post that one would not likely be forthcoming). Also, I think it was indicated they would be offering a DC adaptor in the future. At least I am hoping that is the case.

That is correct Terry...thanks! Eden Park is a much smaller company in comparison to the bigger kids playing in the same field, though they have a really great project. Like finding a great little gem in a hole in the wall store.

I know not ideal, but you could run these of one of those silent electric generators if you really needed remote power. I don't know for sure or when battery option is coming. Crossing fingers though.

Plus, who can beat 50% off???

Saw these guys at NAB. Some of their products look cool but not sure how it compares to the Microplasma if at all:

These are a completely different type of light, being more harsh than the Eden Park's. It's more of an LED spot light as opposed to the broad source soft light.

I'd be very interested in a group buy of these Fiilex lights. I thought they were very good... Excellent replacement for small fresnels and extremely versatile with many cool attachments. High CRI, no multiple shadow issues. A 50% group buy on these and I'd be all over it!

Let me look into it - I have a friend there that might be able to swing something. Will be after my Hexolux and Ronin GB's are further along and not posted on this fine thread ;-)
