We are a post production gear / edit-bay distribution company and trying to decide which 4k monitor we are going to be distributing. I would love to know which brand everyone is looking the most forward to and when we start selling the monitor we will absolutely give red users an additional discount.

We are looking to focus on the sub 1k 4k monitors so these won't likely be IPS but TN however the preliminary reviews show some excellent possibilities. This isn't going to replace a color correction monitor of course. We prefer to only distribute 1 maybe 2 models so that we can sell a large enough quantity to get the lowest price and make it easier to recommend to our customers.

Here are the brands to consider.
Samsung U28D590D 28" 4k 60" HZ (hopefully we are able to distribute this for 600)
    Lenovo’s ThinkVision Pro2840m 28" 4k 60hz (Price would be under 700)
    Asus PB278Q 28" 4k 60" price would be close to 700

So far we are leaning toward Samsung or Asus. You will most likely have to use display port to be able to achieve 60hz

Dell was taken out as there sub 1k 4k monitor is only capable of 30hz at 4k.

If anyone would like to test/review one we may be able to loan one or possible two different ones to you.

None for under $1K. They look too crappy to me, especially for pro use. But I also feel the same way about 1080 monitors.

I was impressed by what I saw of the Canon V3010 at NAB.

The Canon V3010 is amazing. We will probably distribute a color correction monitor as well but many customers have been asking us about an affordable 4k monitor for editing on. However, a 2k IPS monitor may be the better bet depending on how all the reviews go.

Vizio's P Series 50" 4K monitor will come in just under $1k. They also have 55", 65 and 70" I believe. Releasing soon.

The TV's will have built in HVEC to support 4K streaming from content providers like Netflix.
