Been a RED One follower since the beginning, but never had the financial capability to go for the big boy. Scarlet is, indeed, a dream come true, and like I said in a different post, I'm 100 commited and will buy the camera when it is released, even at Beta. Being an HVX200 user, I would like to suggest a couple of things that I'm sure the talented RED team can implemment:

1- Dinamic Range equal or better than the Panasonic HPX500 camera in Cine D- You guys know what I'm talking about ;)

2- Low light performance on par with RED ONE- one of the great things we always hear about the Red is the excelent low light performance

3- Mount options for 35mm adapters, or.... RED's own 35mm adapter designed with the Scarlet in mind? You guys know how to make cameras and wonderful glass, why not the ultimate 35mm adapter? If it works in other systems, better, but I would not hesitate to add at least $2000 on such a device...

4- Focus assist functions for the LCD, like focus in red, green, etc.

    5- Flip option for LCD's

6- Motion Jpeg, Prores, or other open codecs for high quality proxies at 1080p. This would be the absolute Nirvana and the killer function for the camera: Not only 3k capable, but able to create 1080p 24/25 files in prores quality for immediate editing...

I know you guys are always pushing to the limit, so go for it, and do take this into consideration! If we need to pay for these features, so be it. You can count on my money!

As an Indie producer/filmmaker, I salute the Red team. Thank you for making filmmaking more and more about the talent, and not about the price of the gear!

Probably not going to see a dual encoder in there writing Pro Res or another codec alongside the Redcode RAW. Storage, processing, and power limitations... not even considering the extra cost.

This is what your computer is for. Why would you want any of the $3000 for the camera to be put towards something your computer can already do?

For immediate delivery of footage-edit without the need for redraw post production time. For Event and news Coverage, for example (which pays bills for many of us).

working with REDRAW is, of course, the main route with the Scarlet, but it takes time. For movies, comercials, tv programs, etc, thats not a problem. But for the above situations, the use of an immediately NLE editable codec is key.
