  1. #1 RED #1418 Unboxing in 3D!
Arrived Monday morning, 9am…. Right as NAB was revving up… so
I figured I'd save my real first post till now. before I say anything I want to thank everyone that "contributes" here for the opertunity to lurk and learn from
them and their experiences before receiving my camera. I want to also thank Jim and the entire Red family for what they have accomplished, Thank You.

(! Also a great thanks to my bomb squad rep, Hoover!, thanks for the painless delivery..)

Here are a few notes to people about to receive their cameras:

    1. the last week is going to suck, no matter how you look at it… your going to want to check your inbox every 5min for tracking #’s… ;)
    2. It’s a camera! It captures pictures!... learn how to take good pictures, it won’t do it for you!
    3. READ THE MANUAL! READ THE FORUM!
    4. Know how to use the tool before spewing crap onto the forum!... Lots of posts here are like if someone goes to home depot,
buys a hammer then complains to the manufacture that the hammer is defective because it keeps hitting their fingers!
Know how to use the tool before you make comments.
    5. The camera won’t make your story better… (but can make it prettier, and less costly..)
    6. Enjoy.. You hold a tool that puts into reach that which has been outside the grasp of many for a long time. Realize your vision.

    Workflow:
In the spirit of this community, I would like to contribute.. so, as soon as there is a release of a “redline” for windows.
I am going to make available for everyone a red data processing que software, aka… (rush, deadline, ect…) that will network
render out from r3d files, dpx, tga, ect.. I will post more details when we eventually have a windows redline app…
(sorry windows at first, but osx probably in the future…) so I would like to hear comments on features you would like to see implemented….
Oh yeah features are subject to change and they will.. ;)

Well enough of me ranting, if anyone has any questions on workflow, camera, cinematography,
feel free to PM me. I will try to answer as soon and as best as I can, it’s going to get pretty busy right now…

Again and again, I am thrilled at the level of detail the Red reproduces.

    Good luck with your baby!

The look just like stills from top-notch DSLR! Makes me very excited! Bet it feels more like a "real" camera too.
