I'm hearing some talk about s35mm primes not working on this body.
Will RED lenses work on EPIC or will there be another set designed.
I figured the Mysterium X would be the same size as M1 but greater pixel density.

    What gives?

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work. The EPIC prototype in the RED tent had a 50mm RED Prime mounted on it.

EPIC has an S35mm "full frame" sensor. The RED One is S35mm also. I'm not sure what they're implying by "full frame" in regards to EPIC and if the sensor will be full S35mm size or if it will be 16:9 like the RED One. Currently, the RED One's active sensor area in the S35mm zone is 4520x2540 or 4.5K. But we don't get quite all of that -- we shoot 4096x2304.

The RED lenses cover the S35mm frame size just fine and should work fine on EPIC whether it's 16:9 or full aperture.

Active usable pixel area on the RED One is Academy aperture, about 22mm. RED Epic's width is supposed to be Super-35, which is 24mm. Epic is making the area of the sensor usable.

    Hi Guys,
'Full Frame' on Epic would imply full sensor height for use with anamorphics,
otherwise what's the point of this thing, it would have the same Super 35
sensor height as RED ONE which crops for use with anamorphics.
On the lens issue, super 35 Lenses would be needed for a full height
sensor Nikon's MK2 Zeiss and some RED lenses may have a problem here
with keyhole effect, the wide one's mostly.
