  1. #1 Time code wrong in Redcine
I'm having trouble getting dpx exports from redcine to have the right timecode. The displayed timecode is different in Redcine 0.90 and FCP 6.0.2. I'm sure the Timecode from the H proxies in FCP is right, because it timecode syncs in FCP with double system audio that was jam synced to the camera during shooting . Interestingly the timecode in Redcine is always later ( using time of day code ) than the fcp proxies. The dpx files exported from Redcine have the wrong timecode. Any one else seen this , any work arounds.

  2. #2 24 25??
If you are working in 25P......

There is a well knwn fault with Redcine where it doesn't use the metadata frame rate. You may notice that the metadat shows 24P instead of 25.
Just go into library and click on each clip (lower third) and you can change the clips to 25 fps...then your TC will probably match.

    Cheers

    Thanks Michael
yes 25p, but I've already tried the Library 25p adjustment, the timecode is still out by as much as 30 minutes, anyone else seen this.

I think I've finally realised what everyone else worked out ages ago, that I have to set the project frame rate to 25 before I import the Crimson intermediate files and then also go in and manually change each clip to 25p as well.

Oh hey Marcus, I just posted a response in your other thread about this.

Give me a buzz if you have any further issues, I'm just watching RC crunch through hours of dailies today ;)

This 25fps redcine problem just won't go away, I'm still getting the wrong timecode in the rendered DPX metadata even though with careful setup you can get it to display the correct timecode in the overlays in Redcine. Anyone else seen this, any further suggestions appreciated.
Hi Cail, hope your renders are giving you less pain than mine.
