Was there a final conform from R3Ds or was the Broadcast module stream the master? Along those lines was the grade performed entirely in camera using the in-camera color settings or was it run through a live-grading application?

The Post/Finishing was done in 4K at Digital Arts.
The line cut itself was done live with 13 Dragons and the Broadcast modules on a switcher.
We then created 60 hours of dailies matching the grade of the live cut.
A new fined tuned edit was done on Avid from the 13 Dragons cameras dailies.

We then approached finishing/grading as a traditional 4K DI workflow, reconformed R3Ds and took it to our 4K theater for a full real-time grade and finish.

Just watched this, man is this beautifully shot. The whole production on sound was impressive too. On thing singing side, is my favorite performance from them both - kind of something that broke my stereotypes on many fronts.

Really great this. Anyone know what was used for CCU and lens controls?
What would the likelihood of a cheaper HDMI based 4k module for lower budget / indie productions?

Hello reduser, does anyone have an inkling upon how they did CCU & lens controls? Was everything (video engineering) just done through foolcontrol? Pretty amazing app if so as I guess you can link the cams together? I've do this for S3D using a gigE for two cams but for 13 is something else.

    Cheers,

You can link the cam together with 'master / slave' groups then only control the master if you wish...
Would work for ISO, start stop or other look and metadata parameters.

Otherwise the app at the moment is still mono camera centric once connected...
But as you can see in the screenshot above you can run several instances of the app on the same mac if needed...

So one master and 12 slaves in theory would do this? When you master and slave on old firmware with EF glass (the same lens make & model) you can pull focus on two cams and iris and everything else. Obviously pretty useless for multicam as you'll want various focal lengths but interesting all the same.
Setting the same look / curves on all the cams through foolcontrol is the interesting one I think for live multicam & lots of 4k broadcast modules.
Not that I've got oodles of dragons to play with but interesting all the same ; )

Cool stuff Mikael! Will definitely get this app one day!
