A series of stills I pulled from my Dragon fashion film shoot with Danni yesterday, shot on canon 24-70 F2.8 at 250ISO, 8fps, 2:1:

    Nice work Dominik,

I know what you mean, we just start doing stills with RED now, isn´t that true amazing, I really think we´ve got the best from both worlds (analog and digital)! Besides from the nice composition these shots really show the benefits we have with the dragon sensor. Just curious, what are your problems to sync your strobes?

    Cheers

    Ulf

    hey Uli

    thank you :)

my understanding was that it cant be done ? at least not in the conventional way as with a DSLR ? I own a hensel porty lighting kit and I assume there is no way I can connect it to my epic and trigger it even though the handle has a sync port ?

So I like the obvious double entendre inherent in the title... but the engineer in me wonders if you purposely chose a diesel facility because you knew that liquid diesel fuel wasn't really dangerous around smokers but that most viewers wouldn't get it... (triple entendre?)... because that would be epic (pun intended) and you'd get some serious nerd points if you did!

    Hi Dominik,

You can trigger your flash via the sync port by assigning and pressing a button while you´re rolling. I suggest to use a remote trigger to keep your camera safe.
I´ve done some work with strobes here: https://vimeo.com/106123939

    Cheers

    hey David

unfortunately i didn't think that far ahead, my knowledge of combustible liquids is quite limited lol
we saw the tanks standing there and just went for the shots sorry :/

can you elaborate on this a little Ulf ? so I can assign a custom button on the handle that triggers my flash while Im shooting at lets say 8fps to keep the compression low ? that would be amazing. that video example looks great !
