    Hey guys,

First ever post...long time reader. I'm not sure if this would be the right place to ask this, but does anyone know of any posts about people selling their HVX's to buy red? Unfortunetly, I cannot yet afford red, but am looking to upgrade from my DVX. Any help would be great. Thanks!

What a great camera!!! Got mine and won't cut loose of it till the very end. I think that this camera (varicam not to be left out) was undoubtedly the the revolutionary bang of the tapeless industry. Not to say it was the first, but certainly the most reliable and workable for the professional and the one camera that got the industry moving---correct me if I'm wrong---I find the workflow simple and streamlined/quick.

I think this camera still has a handfull of years of life left on it....don't think the television broadcast industry will wake up next week and decide to stray away from the formats that the hvx shoots.

Would like to offload my Cannon XL H1 and Sony Z1U though.......with tapeless and native 24p aquisition becoming mainstream I think the door is slooooooowly closing to physical tape drives....BUT realistically will that be two or ten years? But not bad to be working NOW in the realm of tapeless to stay on top of things.

I'll add a thread on this next point---Anyone know of a reliable software program for logging/archiving digitized clips for stock? I've been using tape for years and have nice giant full shelves of tapes, 20 notebooks and a not to bad (home designed) database built from "File Maker Pro" with my logging/shot information. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated. I might note that there is a software program out there called HD Logger....tried to use the DEMO but it locks up with the new MacPro powerbooks that have I-Sight. Looks like a great logging program though---more on it latter after I get the bugs worked out. Any info on others would be appreciated......

    My ten cents.....

I posted a couple listings for my HVX... Almost no real interest in it. I've got at least 50 people wanting to buy my P2 cards though.

I'd like to sell it, I'm not using it much lately as my plate is full with other things and probably will be until later this year when I get RED anyway. But I'm also not going to just fire-sell to some lowball offer either. As BajaPoductions put it, it's a nice camera. Sure it's a little soft on the details and noisy at times, but still a fine camera. If nothing else, it will become a B-Cam or even just behind-the scenes, etc..
