Page 10 of Macworld June 2008 edition, shows an ad of Jeff and his Red One. It is an ad for Western Digital. www.westerndigital.com/en/ library/dual-option/4178-705012.pdf
I like G-Tech. But on page 19, I read that Fabrik bought them out. Does any one want to put in their two cents worth about what they think about G-Tech's future.

Fabrik bought G-Tech in January, 2008.

I would bet that Western Digital has seen a significant increase in sales since the Red One started shipping, we have bought at least 25 WD drives since our camera arrived.

Good luck with those WD drives... They've been a real headache for me. After 3 out of 5 MyBook II units were DOA for me, I've decided to never buy again. YMMV, as always.

I don't fault any brand. I question the quality of hard drives made in China. I am guessing all these companies use the same parts from Hitatchi, Toshiba, etc. I might trust a certain brand, but if they switch from parts made in Japan to parts made in China, I will not even know about it, because if I open up my harddrive enclosure, I void the warranty. I don't trust Chinese stuff especially after I read an article about Chineses SD cards that have viruses pre loaded on them at the factory. Yikes. They say it is nonintentional. Yeah, right.
