  1. #1 Fastest Solid State Drives yet! 
    Saw this at Tomshardware today. They did a bunch of tests with these SSD's. The Memoright drive. The are expensive, but out perform any drive on the market for overall speed nearly 460 MB/s sustained. That would make for a decent RAID for footage. Check it out.

    Looks like there more like 115MB/s
    460 in raid 0 4 drives

    2 in raid 0 could do uncompressed 4k

    also expensive....$30 per gig

    this on a pci-e card though, only good for comps

    cards come as big as 640 gig right now....

    1.2 tb onboard raid 0 at 1800MB/s read speed could have a lot of uses...

    why only comps?

    1.2 TB is still like 24minutes of 10 bit DPX 4k....nice and realtime

    and using red at significantly lower data rates it's probably hours

    Probably about 8.5 hours of 4K REDCODE-36 @ 24fps. :nerd:
