  1. #1 Music Video Shot on Red - Greece
We shot a music video for Zoe papadopoulou with one of the first Red Ones in Greece.
    Stefanos Efthimiades was the D.P.
Here are some stills. You can watch the video at

At the end I 'm including A 4K 2:1 JPEG still from the red of the flower still. Scroll your browser and look at the bug detail.
I posted my Powerbook workflow at the "apple workflow" thread (search user "Vangelis")

Beautiful. The colors are a little bit reminiscent of Amélie to me. Just gorgeous-so clean.

Hey, what does "nasse beni, nasse feni, nassa fini, nasse svili" mean?

    Nice, relaxing song and video.

    Greetings from the North... ;)

EDIT: I actually love the song. I re-played it several times.

Thanks for the nice comments Jaadgy! nasse beni, nasse feni, nassa fini, nasse svili, really means "to want you, to take you away, to leave you, to erase you". Doesn't make much sense, eh?. Keep in mind Greek just keep talking about lost loves in their songs. :)

Wow, fantastic! I really enjoyed the photography in this music video! Were the daylight shots all done at magic hour? The DP did an amazing job of keeping the sky from blowing out and balancing the exposures.

    I'm impressed!

The video was fantastic. I love that it wasn't over cut, although I know that the treatment didn't call for it. It's just that so much stuff today is way over cut.

The song is great as well. I looked online to see if her material was available anywhere....iTUnes, etc.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Wonderful. Loved the concept. Pretty girl, pretty voice, pretty song.

    Questions:

    1) What's the speed on the shots that she's singing? Her eyes move slow-mo, but her lips are still in sync with the song.

    2) Okay... how did you get that bug to hit its mark on your fake flower on cue? :)

We shot the girl at 37fps 3k, 37 fps and played back the song at 147.04% speed. Keep in mind we shot the rest at 25 fps for a PAL delivery. By the way, this is was a one day shoot.

You can find info a helpful table on fps->%Music speed here if you need to do the slowmo, lipsync effect.

    As for the bug...
It was pure luck. Saw it in post myself!! : )

Thanks for sharing the link Vangelis!

And your bug experience reminds me of a true story I heard James Cameron tell in class. It was on one of his earlier directing gigs when he was just a young upstart who still had to prove himself. Well, there was a difficult shot in which he had to get maggots to be more "animated" in the shot. But Cameron and his crew rigged it so that an electric current would flow through the maggots on cue. So whenever Cameron would yell, "Action!", the maggots would start wiggling. And then when he yelled, "Cut!", the maggots would immediately stop.

Cameron said it must have really impressed the executive producer when he walked on to the set and saw that this new, young Director could make even maggots act on command. :)
