Best 3D authoring and or burning software?
Looks like Sony has the monopoly with extremely high prices... Any other solutions than Sony to create 3D blu-rays?

Is this request for a personal project or is this a one off request that could be submitted to a professional authoring service? If you are just testing for personal use. A frame sequential 3D format can played off a flash drive.

ImgBurn works fine for burning a disc. Its what I used when I was testing my 3D calibration disc. Its free software and can burn an ISO image onto DVD or BD.

For authoring you have professional software such as Sony Blu-print and Scenarist. You have much lower priced software as well, such as Do Studio, which is now owned by Sony. We tried to use Scenarist to author our 3D disc, but it kept crashing. In the end we hired GDMX (WB) to author the disc using Blu-print.

For UHD the only choice right now is Scenarist and PHL. Hopefully Sony will update Blu-print next year for UHD / HDR Blu-ray.

+1 What Mr Spears posted. Scenarist has a steep learning curve. Almost vertical. The current professional solutions are relatively pricey. There is currently no prosumer level products that will get that job done.

If you want the least expensive way to make a 3D Bluray in the 3D Bluray official format, Sony Vegas Pro will do it and it's pretty cheep.

I want to burn 3D footage I already edited to produce 3D-blu rays on an ongoing basis.

I used Davinci Resolve to produce 1080p corrected 3D from 6 or 4k filming, Vegas Pro 13 by Sony to edit and burn the dvd or blu-ray however.... it does not play in any of the 4 sony blu-rays I have...
Also tried sony dvd architect pro with the same garbage results. The software test from Dvd Architect by Sony plays everything fine but the dvd's or blu-rays do Not play in the Sony dvd players.

I want to produce several blu-rays and it'll be inconvenient/expensive to use an outside service.

I also tried Asampoo, Cyberlink and other burners of the 3D iso with no results.

So it looks like after the Sony guys won the blu-ray war they closed really good all doors and jack up sky high all prices.

My original question was and still is if there is a program NOT MADE BY SONY that can burn 3D iso's that will work in all sony and other blu-ray players. Sony is extremely deceiving in saying from version 11 of the Vegas (at least) and the dvd architect that has RELIABLE 3D burning capabilities. It has "some kind of abilities" but not Reliable abilities.

are you sure the firmware on the Sony players is updated? Connect them to the internet and update their firmware. I've used Vegas for 3D Bluray, it's limited, but it works.

Sony is one of many companies that are part of the BDA. Anyone can license and build authoring products, there is just not much of a market for it. 3D was very specialized and turned out to not be very popular, so almost no one outside of Sony, Sonic and PHL bothered to implement it. Even then, only Sony and PHL did a decent job. PHL keeps getting out of the business. I think they are back for UHD BD. The only HD BD they will author these days is James Cameron movies because he requests their service.

Jason, Yes! You are right as always ;-) I did the update but this was not the problem, finally I traced the problem to older BLU-RAY disks I had from Verbatrim. Yes! It drove me Nuts but finally I went and bought some new/fresh from the oven blu-rays and it worked.

I noticed also that 3D blu-rays are very sensitive to dust/fingerprints.

I can wait for the 3D UHD to pick up. That will be simply AWESOME!!!!

Does anyone knows if any of the 78" UHD tv's today have 3D UHD capability?
