  1. #1 s.Darko (Donny Darko 2) on Red
Wanted to let everybody know we are on day 4 of a 25 day shoot for the sequel to Donny Darko, s.Darko. We're filming in beautiful Utah.

Our DP is Marvin Rush, who is very comfortable with digital cinematography and the results are stunning. I hope to get permission to post some shots shortly.

    OMFG ! That's totally great.

Honestly, I don't think that DD needs a sequel, and not having R. Kelly in the project is weird but hey, I'm happy that you're using RED.

Only recently I watched the first one and I'm obsessed with it.

    I love it!

Please make a good sequel. :)

It is a mostly one camera shoot. I think it's going to be a great movie, and it looks amazing!

Awesome. Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies. And since I graduated high school in '88, it made it that much more cool for me.

But I'm wondering - how in the world do you do a sequel to that movie? : )

Just to let you all know Richard and I have had nothing to do with this movie. We just got finished shooting "The Box" starring Cameron Diaz and two Genesis cameras. Had a wonderful time with Richard, Cameron and the Genesis.
This will be the third movie I have done with Richard. You should look at "Southland Tales." This is truly an amazing piece of absurdist movie making. It is so prescient regarding the state of the US and our elections. Just let it be an experience. Don't be too literal when you watch it.
We shot Darko in 27 days. So they are stiffing you guys 2 days worth. If you do see Southland, we shot that one in only 30 days.
Say hi to Marvin for me. Ask him if he called in the job.
