Nope, RED cameras have several "major" formats which equate to aspect ratio and resolution combinations.

FF - typically means 1.90:1 (DCI Aspect Ratio)
2:1 - which is exactly what the aspect ratio is, 2:1
HD - refers to any aspect ratio that is 1.78:1 (or often known as 16x9)
WS - refers to the 2.37:1 aspect ratio

So when somebody says I shot this at 4K FF, they mean 4096x2160 as that is the 1.90:1 aspect ratio and 4K is the captured resolution.

Red supports Anamorphic Shooting using all formats, you turn the anamorphic mode on in the format tab (2X or 1.3X) and select a resolution and format. Since traditional anamorphic shooting is done at 6:5 or 4:3, Red has included those.

However, I don't know exactly how anamorphic is implemented on Raven if at all.

Would I be correct in saying the Rokinon 16mm T2.2 (APS-C Coverage) Canon EF Mount lens is the fastest option for wides for the Raven at the moment? Also looking at Tokina 11-16 2.8 as its wider, But no de-clicked aperture and slower.

Any idea what will happen with Scarlet now, and possibly Epic, will this precipitate a price drop?

What are the differences between Scarlet-X and Raven, off top of my head

    1. Scarlet can shoot 5k in 12fps
    2. Scarlet has HDRx

    Anything else?

http://www.red.com/products/scarlet-mx why is the scarlet page down, is this normal? Or has it been taken down to update it with new information or EOL

p.s. I take it Raven will not be having any form of hdr-X

Thanks man, I gotta get up to code on the shorthand!
