Is it possible you accidentally ordered Rosco's standard IR hot mirror - the formulation intended for use in front of lighting instruments and the item I originally tested before Rosco decided to develop a camera filter? That filter is on a thin picture glass, easily scratched and has no edge finish.
Quote from an email to me from Jim at Rosco:

    Hi Mark,
We do not yet have the machinery to slope and burnish the edges of the TruColor glass filter for standard professional appearance. For this reason, the filter edges might seem sharp and unfinished when you receive it.

I swear it's about 2mm thick. Bog standard glass - not hardened. Wasn't warned about that. Yep - was cut with a simple tool. not even sloped with a bit of sandpaper.
Not strong enough to be put with confidence in a filter tray.
Supplied in a piece of bubble wrap - no pouch. I was told it was a prototype, but that it was definitely a trucolor. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.
Got broken in the hard case. (!! -in a pouch - regular handling!!). I took it to a glaziers who chopped it down into a 4 x 5.65 (I bought a 5.65 square because I had a feeling this might happen...
He confirmed that he didn't think it was hardened glass...

    Ripped off.
I did tell them I wanted one urgently... this was all they could supply. It was good of them to send something. But I wanted to post a warning as I had no idea if others like this were being shipped to other buyers.
Mine was absolutely not fit to be a camera filter and I was amazed at what they had sent.
...and I had paid for shipping to Shanghai, China.

Abel currently has stock of both the Truecolor filters and the LitePads from Rosco. I really like the kit version of the LitePads -- a great versatile kit.
