IMHO, there's no point in shooting a camera like a RED if you're going to be heavy-handed with the coloring afterwards. I have seen the trailer for this show and I look forward to seeing it eventually. However, I don't appreciate 'literal' coloring, as in, "Hey, it's the '50s, let's smother it with Instagram filters. Warp 5." I wonder how the DP feels about it.

Actually one shot in the trailer does not work (the coronation shot in Westminster Abbey, which feels like it was shot in a tool shed), though overall it looks terrific. I love the mid-20th century in almost every way, including the Cold War.
Good production values may not be noticed. Bad production values will be.

Marc, thanks for that. The F55 looks like a mean camera. Seems that Netflix isn't messing around when they say that they want a 4K minimum, although that rules out 16mm for good. Got any idea about the lenses?

GOT IT! Could this be the first Panavision DXL series?? it makes sense because I thought this looked like RED footage. ;)

Panavised F55s though? Looks like a Sony EVF though and if the vfx super says F55, that's what it is.

I assume it was shot RAW though? Again difficult to see the rigging.

Whatever it is, it's beautifully lit and shot, bit too much hazing for my liking but at least the shadows are not crushed and there's lots of depth in there.

    cheers

"I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House" is a Netflix production and it was shot on Alexa:

The DP states it was Alexa in this interview:
