    Hi there

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I can't find it.

We have the Redcine to Avid workflow sorted using metacheater...

But now need to get back into Redcine for Online.

Have exported an EDL that looks fine but where to from here?
FCP loses the important information on EDL import so its XML is useless. We had to manually change clip names and important T/C info was lost so the
best we managed was getting the original R3D clips and then sight matching to get the right clips...very tedious and costly.

    Has anyone mastered this process?
Can avid export an XML as my rep has suggested...but can't tell me how. Tried Filmscribe but couldn't get the resulting XML to a Redcine XML.

FCP workflow seems solid but need Avid to be also.

    Cheers

FilmScribe exports a master XML which is not the format expected by Redcine as a pull list. In another thread, you will see that in a couple of weeks I will be posting an XSLT file that does the transform from master XML to Redcine.

    Thanks Michael

    Look forward to your fix.

Does metafuze also fix this output problem and if so will it be available on Mac soon?

    Cheers

Heres a way to cut RED files in Avid then make an image sequence:

Input Red files into Avid using Metacheater to get timecode

    Edit
Delete all timewarps (else it has an error on export??)
    Export OMF2

Input into FCP using Automatic Duck
Ensure sequence settings same as Red proxy
Reconnect all media, locate Red proxies

    Export XML

Use Crimson to make Intermediates and a Telecine XML

In RedCine Load Intermediates, then load Telecine XML

    Export image sequence

    Import into Flame

This seems sweet... apart from a few RecCine crashes and random weird things long the way......

I think that works well for today, but the RedCine XML out will allow you to skip all those interim steps when available.
