  #1 UPDATED: Backorder fulfillment process
A few customers have brought to our attention the way we allocate backordered items. The mode of backorder fulfillment was to deliver based on RED ONE serial number. However, we agree with customer feedback and think it should be based on delivery date of the RED ONE. If people have the same delivery date, serial number will be the secondary sort. And to clear up any confusion, RED will consider the date your order was invoiced as the "delivery date" so not to punish our international customers for taking a few days longer to take delivery than our domestic customers :)

Simply put, order of delivery date of the camera is the right way to go.

    THANK YOU!

Does this also apply to EVF orders, or are those still being completed by serial number?

I hope this means all the items have the "delivery date" from the body.

Thank you Jim to listening to my email today and fixing this. I think most people will agree that this is fair for everyone who took delivery when their number came up and didn't wait to take delivery.

If it gets me my EVF and 50-150 faster I am all for it. if it doesn't maybe not so much.....

actually this sounds pretty reasonable....if it benefits me.

This is great, best decision for backorders, IMO. It's the most fair... Why should #5xx get a back-ordered component before I do, even if they just took delivery yesterday? Good move, IMO, even if it may delay my EVF.

I really like this policy. It means I can wait to place an order for an item until right before it is available, without worrying about being at the end of the line. Another bonus for those who believed in RED since the beginning....

What about items that one put a deposit down? Let's say in my example, I put a deposit on an EVF last September. Once I get my camera delivered, can someone with serial # 1455 who had their camera for a little while and just decides that it's time for a viewfinder get theirs before mine?

That does not seem like a fair policy if that's the case. I think time of deposit for an item should be added to the equation.
