  1. #1 RECine Release
I assume REDCine will be released along with the first RED Production cameras and REDCode. They all obviously need to go together as a unit.

However when will REDCine be available to the public? I assume this'll be answered on monday, but will the application also be available for purchase and download on monday at least as a demo? Perhaps with a few RAW frames as demonstration.

Even if I don't get a camera REDCode is of a huge interest to me since it's applications are so wide and understanding it is so important being able to offer RED based post production services. Post houses aren't going to want to wait for their first RED project to have to learn the ins and outs of a REDRaw Workflow. The sooner you can get us some opportunities to start learning the system, the sooner we can service RED customers.

Jim any comment? Or will all of this be public on Monday?

i agree, it would be great for reservation holders to get the software before hardware delivery in order to setup, benchmark & validate workflows.

RED will be passing out redcine software DVD's to reservation holders only at the NAB booth starting Monday morning...NOT!

Good question though, pre-release to reservation holders, general public or only ships with camera? Guess we'll find out manana?

Hey now! I didn't say just to reservation holders! I want to know when REDCine will be available as a stand alone product.

    Perhaps you could include:

    1) 2 Seconds of REDCode 4k on a normal shoot.
    2) 2 Seconds of REDCode 4k on a greenscreen
    3) An optional demo copy with an encrypted bit of metadata to ensure the demo copy only works with those two pieces of footage.

And then of course information on when the standalone will be available for purchase/free download
