  1. #1 Red Lenses on Film Camera
Since I couldnīt find a dedicated Forum for Red lenses, Iīm posting it here :

Has anyone tested the Red lenses on a 35mm film camera ?.
Is the 18-85mm T2.9 still on schedule for 2008 ?
    Price ?.
What about breathing an ramping on Red Zooms ?.
    Date for Red Primes ?.

    Best regards

It would be awesome to see some comparison footage using a Red Lens on a film camera in same setting/lighting etc.

I DID it on ARRI 435 mark III and on my RED one 768 back in March in HKG but " NOT RED LENSES " but Cooke S4 and Zesis MP.

Optics : Panavision / COOKE / ARRI Zesis are best optics and their rankings are higher than other late comer without long years of track record though.

Can be done of course- they are standard PL-mount lenses. That said there's a whole lot of other lenses out there that you might find have a sharper optical quality- and the price to match...

You get me wrong Stew. I asked about the performance of the Red lenses on a film camera. Perhaps Red lenses v/s Zeiss v/s Cooke but on film if you want to look at it as a contest but surely not a Red v/s film contest (again).

I was asking this because I remember Jim saying that RED lenses were more like the Cookes than Zeiss.

Just curious not picky, you meant 435 advanced by saying 435 MK III. The term MK xx is pretty common on the european cinema products (Zeiss HS MKIII, Moviecam Compact MKII, etc.) but never heard of a 435 MK III.

Hello Noah, I know what you mean but who knows...Red footage (with Red camera and lenses) seems pretty sharp to me. Just wanted to know if anyone did it and his/her opinion on the results.

    Regards
