    So Jim's new thing is light field tech? I'm not sure this is the revolutionary thing he mentioned though. I think this is just part of Reds future development. Light field is in concept not really something new but if Red released this as a low cost tech just as Red One was with 4K Digital Cinema, it would be rather revolutionary, or evolutionary.

    If you compare a hand-held lightfield camera as shown in the cartoon with the latest Lytro prototype (which is the size, weight, and cost of a major piece of military artillery), I'd call it revolutionary!

    Nope, the Lytro is revolutionary, Red's is evolutionary.
