Third Part CF Cards for RED ONE

Can/Will 3rd Party CF Cards work as well as RED's brand of CF Card with the RED ONE? I have done a search and do understand that some will work, but since RED's cards are significantly more expensive I am wondering if RED's CF Cards are somehow different from say, Sandisk.

How are RED's 8 GB CF Cards different from a 8 GB Kingston or Sandisk?

As newer and higher capacity off-brand disks are released in the future, can we be assured that RED will update their cameras to be compatible? And ill the RED FLASH (CF) MODULE work with off brand CF Cards>

With the newer 32GB CF Cards coming out, it seems like a so much more attractive filming solution to purchase these cards over the very expensive and heavier RED Raid and Flash drives.

This has been discussed in detail MANY times. There is currently only ONE card other than RED cards that will support the camera data rate. K.Berlin obove is correct.

Reds, prices for Cards are actually some of the best out there.

I find it seriously disturbing that I am "Trolling" with this question. I have received two PM's that accuse me of that. I am certainly not a RED authority but that has not stopped me from reserving a RED ONE, but I actually dread coming to reduser.net if I have a question because not matter what I just know that I am going to annoy and bother one or two extremely busy readers who still have to go out of their busy ways to send me a PM offering such helpful advice like, "search," and one jerkoff called me a "troll."

It's unfortunate that this is really the only place to go for advice and that RED actually endorses this site because RedUser.net really sucks.

Now. I have done a search and the answers to my questions were not found. If any of the higher ups at RED ever reads this post, I hope it means something to you that did not expect to get the useful and friendly advice I was hoping for. But when I get PM's calling me names is disgusting. My god, I spending nearly $25,000.

Joe I agree that people should not be calling you names and that your question was valid. But dude try and get some thicker skin or you will never last in this business. Freaking out because someone called you a "troll" is a little hyper sensitive.

By the way I know of some people that have purchased the lexar 300X cards and had problems with them working right with the camera. The Red cards seem to be the only safe bet right now.

By the way if you want to try and get me all sensitive you are going to have to call me much worse names then "troll" or "jerkoff". In fact come to think of it I would be suprised if you could come up with a name that I haven't been called before.

Joe.. dissapointed that you feel like the community is not as good as you expect.

Please.. point me to another camera company that has an open free community where the actual owner of the company responds on an hourly basis and I will try and adjust REDUSER accordingly to match.

And Finner is right.. if getting an email from people telling you to actually do some homework since this question comes up at least once a week gets you down this much... maybe this isnt the right place to be in.
