On the other hand, he is now the only guy in the world with a Red camera which doesn't have the "long throat" Brook was criticizing in his ergonomics thread... plus he can finally mount lenses other than just Nikon and PL. I think the value of his camera just went up!

I have the hope that the fact that we haven't heard anything concrete neither from P+S nor Red means that there is something happening behind the scenes.

After all, the former has already a technical Oscar, and the latter certainly deserves one.

Also don't forget important info for Nikkor lens users:

23499 Professional F Mount incl. a clam ring for a maximum hold of the lens, when using manual follow focus or motorized lens control systems.

18381 Nikon F Mount Note: Do not use Nikon AF lenses with this mount, the lens may not release without damage !

the chart above has adjustment shims for PL mount?
does this mean you need to mount PLs in the same manner as before, meaning a trip to the lens technician?

It's written above very clear and also the shims are not for RED PL mount:

    "Mounting Instructions

    a) Remove 8 screws from the inner ring of the RED camera mount and
    carefully remove the mount

    b) Carefully place shims (3) and flange (2a) on the camera front instead
of the original mount. Make sure the shims are not folded and the screw
    holes are accessible.

    c) Fix eight screws as shown in the drawing

    d) Screw cover ring (2b) onto the flange ring

    e) Add position screw (6) as shown in the drawing far left."

During installation process try to be very careful and don't make any wrong step that something

breaks the camera, otherwise it would void warranty and you pay for it (not RED, nor even the 3rd party).

I was actually reffering to the manual in post #6 in the notes section right
next to #1 pl mount its says shims are available, which makes me think you need shims for PL, this might not be the case it just looks that way
