Is the blue flare due to the lens coatings? I don't really like it. I know some anamorphic 's have a neutral flare.

Flare is highly subjective , but overall presentation is due to several factors , some of which are related to color gamut reaction to portions of the spectra - highly interactive with sensor type, everyone’s favorite term of post 2010; color science, and a variety of other factors including grading.

You’re literally the first person who has said you don’t like what we are doing, but I would recommend trying them with your own lighting conditions, your own camera and your own grading to see what works for you .

Like all good lenses - ours are only one component in the imaging systems and artistry, and the rest is up to everyone else :)

I’d possibly recommend Arri Master anamorphics to you.

Check out Panavision G series for something different but still flarey.

Bausch and Lomb CinemaScopes have a very white streak flare.
