Damn, its situations like this where decent insurance comes in handy, your gear is covered, simply cooperate and give them what they want.
No amount of gear is worth risking your life over, let em have it.

I was held up at gunpoint right in that neighborhood (25th and Webster) back in 2011. I wasn't working, just visiting an industry acquaintance. Lost my wallet, which sucked.

Wow, I didn't know that. SF just feels even more dangerous in the last year. Bart has gone up in a bunch of crime by 40% in the last year. It pisses me off when groups like zion ( zumbi) who are trying to help out and do something get targetted.

This is a heartless thing to say. No one deserves to be held up at gun point and be victimized for trying to earn a living. I grew up in San Leandro east bay which is right next door to Oakland. I worked on plenty of music videos in Oakland when I was younger and although you must be extra careful their when filming it's not right to suggest that the victims were to be blamed for the incident. This is just an asshole comment.

When shooting in Oakland it's always a good idea for everyone on the crew to be issued a handgun and walkie by production incase robbers show up and have a few pros in high places with 308 AP rounds incase cops show up. Just another line item on the budget really.
