TIME AND DATE ISSUE...really?

Hi guys I own from just a year the Red Epic W and it works great. Yesterday I sent the log file for a ticket to check a chromatic aberration issue (all solved) but they discover that the internal battery doesn't keep the charge and sometimes the date and time it get resetted to 2010 lol...
The strange things is that the same thing happen to another guy in italy and we are winderign if becoause we have not been using the camera for about two weeks?
They ask me to send the camera back to replace the battery, Im still in warranty but you think is worth it? Looks like other people with their Scarlet W had the same problem and once they got back the problem was still there ! Is it maybe a firmware bug? How a brand new camera of 30,000€ has a crap battery inside?? Lol
What is your experience?

Return the camera. Have the battery replaced.

Looks like a general problem with early Weapons. Mine MG also had it.

At the very least this thread should be a heads up to RED to look at the problem or at their battery supplier.

That battery is buried deep in the camera and it is not possible for the user to do this task. Was like this in DSMC 1 as well.

Wish it was easier.

Yes but some people paid 650$ to change it!!!! Glad im still in warranty but it should last at least 5 years not 12 months!!

Scarlet W as well, still need to send it in.... Hoping it is a software issue??? The date and time sticks if you use the camera every 1.5 to 2 days, longer than that and it resets... On DSMC1 once that battery died you could never reset the clock.
