Very interesting, but 2K? Rather have a GH5 as a crash cam then...
It looks like 4k/120p to me
Looks really interesting. I wondering they'll use the dual conversion gain feature of the sensor. The wifi monitoring and control sounds pretty great if it works well. Could be a great little simple crash cam or rigged cam. And deep learning with AF could be interesting though it's very unclear what that entails and whether AF will be ok.
The big question marks are about color and gamma since zcam's last camera was a big failure in that regard if I recall.
In reference to the size of another camera:
I'm thinking of launching a thin cam initiative. I suppose I should man up and buy one, but by the time it comes it might not be the only one, plus the zcam maybe a much more raw capable camera, if it has what I suspect in it, which could run cineform raw, maybe even at 4kp120. I think it might even be open source. Better hook over there and duress done live, and ask if anybody wants to implement raw recording and see about that cineform raw standard license on it. That may even be $20 a camera for everything. If you stick a phone on that thing, would it work out smaller or bigger than the p4k?
If anything like the Z Cam E1...I doubt even 4k/120 could make it worth it.
Nice image but by far the least usable camera I've ever used.
Autofocus and aperture resets when it sleeps or powers off, seemingly at random.
Crashes a LOT.
Unusable display.
Unusable wifi.
Doesn't work in heat at all.
Somewhere between 4 minutes and 20 minutes battery life. Depending on it's mood.
Controls are bizzare. Simple things like aperture and card format? Up up down down, down down, left, rotate, spin a bit, re-mount lens, down up.
Love the image. But it's essentially unusable, even in controlled conditions.
Maybe all that's been fixed. Maybe not.
Not my experience at all battery is very decent- couple of hrs on and off, wifi video, aperture adjust phone focusing actually works, albeit not too far. image highly compressed but hey- it's a consumer $200 matchbox sized cam with 4K sensor. I thought it was very impressive
I have had no issues with my zcam e1. In fact when I needed a compact back up camera for a job in africa, i set it up on 15mm rods with an AB plate, a PL mount, a small hd monitor, and it was ready to go. The images actually looked quite lovely as well.
