    Hi,

I am having issues these days with my REDMAG Mini reader crashing finder. Tried three different MACS with different OS and always the same. Once mounted finder crashes. As soon as I detach the reader with mag finder pops up and all fine. RED Watchdog seas the mag and also finder yells to eject the media before removing USB after I do it but I cannot get it mounted to copy off data.

    Anyone seen this?

It works fine on a windows machine...

    Thanks

How is the mag formatted? Does this happen with every Minimag?

Mac doesn't play nice with the UDF format windows does.. Fat32 works fine for mac still. If you want to use UDF your stuck to windows for offloading atm.

OH man was this a recent update that did it? Was on a shoot a month ago and DIT had High Sierra on the machine. They weren't totally updated but I had them do a system update on a secondary machine and voila, it worked. Granted it takes about 60-90seconds to mount/unmount but it does work (with Shotput Pro as well).

If it's formatted as UDF, it can take up to like 5 mins for a mag to load...so maybe you're not giving it enough time?

UDF should work on Macs. It can just take some time to mount.

You can make the Mac play well with UDF if you install the Sony SxS UDF drivers: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com...d/sxsudfdriver

I had no problem mounting the RED mini mag once I had this driver installed on the Mac. YMMV.
