    Using a motion control head to track clouds as they boil and mutate. Shot in frame averaging mode for the squeaky clean finish. The music was recorded in a large cave system, composed by Rob Kelly.

    Beautiful work. What head did you use? Was there some sort of optical tracking software involved or did you adjust on the fly?

    Wonderful, congrats !

    I don't really understand why you are using a motion control head : wouldn't a simple time lapse shooting produce the same effect ? Sorry for the noob question ;-)

    @ Philip Lanyon thanks. It's a cheep and cheerful Dynamic Perceptions head. All the tracking is manual. Not a great hit rate but when it works...

    @ Kristin Stewart without the camera motion these clouds would have moved through the frame in a few seconds. To get them developing and changing they need to be tracked. Most of these shots involve a 45-90 degree pan/tilt.
